Jinling-Yangzi Jiangjiang Hydrogen Pipeline is a key construction project of Sinopec Group. Since November 2007, the pipeline has been used to supply Yangling Company with approximately 18,000 tons of low-cost coal-fired hydrogen produced by Jinling Company, which will reduce production costs for Yangzi Company. Effectively responding to the adverse effects of the international financial crisis has provided strong support, but also makes Jinling's new coal-water slurry hydrogen production facilities to play a greater efficiency, to achieve the mutual benefit of the two sides of the Yangtze River petrochemical companies.
In March of this year, Jinling’s coal-water slurry hydrogen plant was overhauled. Although the company reopened the dry gas hydrogen plant, it still faced difficulties in supplying hydrogen under conditions of high-load operation of the refinery. For this reason, Jinling Company and Yangzi Company agreed to implement the reverse transportation of Jinling-Yangzi Jiangjiang hydrogen pipeline to compensate for the shortage of hydrogen in the Jinling Company's current high-load production of refinery equipment. Through trial and error practice, the use of reversed hydrogen mass flowmeter installations, lower hydrogen pressure in the hydrogen network within the sector, and other measures, the hydrogen from Yangzi Company has finally successfully entered the Jinling oil refining unit through the river pipeline. This move means that the material pipeline between the two companies will play an increasingly important role in optimizing resource allocation strategies implemented by Sinopec Group Corporation.
In late March, Jinling’s petrochemical hydrogen supply pipelines to Yangzi Petrochemical Company successfully implemented reverse transport. Hydrogen from Jiangbei Petrochemical Company was sent to Jiangnan for the first time. It has created conditions for China Petrochemical Corporation to further optimize the allocation of resources.
