Project Description: The Shenzhong Passage is a cross-sea bridge connecting Shenzhen and Zhongshan in Guangdong Province with a total length of 24 kilometers. Among them, the immersed tunnel is 6.8 kilometers long and has 8 lanes in both directions. It is the longest submarine immersed tunnel in the world. After the deep middle passage is completed, it will become an important passage connecting the east and west banks of the Pearl River.

The rock stratum strength is 80~160MPa, and the rock inlay depth is 26m.

Difficulty in construction: Due to offshore operations, it is completely isolated from the land, and the wind speed at sea can reach 40m/s. It brings a lot of inconvenience to equipment lifting, installation, disassembly and construction. In the construction process, it has a hole depth of 85m. The diameter of 3m, into the 28m granite, makes the pile foundation construction very difficult.

Construction highlights: XCMG XR550D power head has common mode and rock entry mode, which are designed for soil and rock formation respectively, and has automatic rotation function, which can be continuously adjusted during construction. In the deep middle channel construction process, the new construction method of rotary drilling rig is used to replace the traditional impact drilling machine construction. The rock layers are crushed by 1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m, 3m core drill, roller drill and barrel drill respectively.
