704 yuan of electric power propulsion system project orders received

The Shanghai Ocean University Ocean Fishery Resources Survey Ship is a joint investment project between the State and Shanghai. The ship integrates resource survey, scientific research and teaching practice, and can undertake tasks such as offshore fishery resource survey, productive exploration and marine science practice teaching. The hull design has a total length of 95 meters, a ship width of 15 meters, a full displacement of about 3,000 tons, and a staffing capacity of 49, including 26 crew members and 23 scientific research personnel.

It is reported that the ship was designed by CSIC 701 and built by Tianjin Xingang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., using an all-electric propulsion system with a power of 4.2 MW. The power management system is used to automatically and efficiently distribute the electric load. It is equipped with 2 sets of 1850 kW. The main push and a set of 450kW side push, advanced AFE frequency conversion technology effectively control the harmonics of the power system, the electric propulsion system will work with the straight wing propeller and dynamic positioning system to make the survey ship flexible, accurate operation performance and good Comfortable performance.

The project is also the third project of electric propulsion system adopting AFE frequency conversion technology undertaken by 704. The 704 is the only unit in China that has experience in AFE frequency conversion technology electric propulsion system engineering. Among them, the first domestic AFE electric propulsion project undertaken in China was applied to a 1600-ton oil tanker, which was delivered to Hong Kong shipowners in January 2015.
