Wear-resistant elbows can be favored by the market and continue to replace some traditional anti-wear materials. The fundamental reason lies in their excellent product quality, as well as in the use of traditional anti-wear materials. In order to obtain the effect of the upstream elbow installation conditions on the performance of the cone flowmeter and the length of the shortest straight section required, CFD numerical simulation was applied to the flow of the inner cone with a diameter of 100 mm and an equivalent diameter ratio of 0.45/0.65/0.85. The meter carried out a simulation study of a single 90° elbow upstream. The simulation medium is normal temperature water, and the Reynolds number range is 0.498×105 to 4.98×105. The research scheme is divided into two categories: baseline and upstream single 90° elbow, with a total of 15 groups. Using the relative error of the average outflow coefficient and the additional uncertainty as the main evaluation criteria of the installation conditions, the straight pipe length of a single 90° elbow upstream is given and compared with the conclusions of foreign studies.
