Green tire development hopes policy support

It is understood that the promotion of green tires started in the EU, and the main regulations include the REACH Regulation and the Tire Labeling Act. The EU REACH Regulation was implemented starting from January 1, 2010; at the end of last year, the European Union's tire labeling regulations were formally implemented, placing higher requirements on the quality of tires. “This is both a challenge and an opportunity for the tire industry in China. The challenge is to increase the technical threshold of the product and increase the production cost. The opportunity is to help tire manufacturers actively innovate in technology and regulate and enhance the level of tire development. In the face of the opportunities and challenges brought about by globalization, China should seize the opportunities in the global competition and turn pressure into a driving force for catch-up, said Wang Feng.

What is gratifying is that China's tire green manufacturing industry has been growing up recently. Many companies have also stepped up the pace of technological innovation. However, the proportion of green tires in China is still relatively low. A considerable number of companies have implemented two sets of standards at home and abroad in order to meet the requirements of exporting EU standards. Countries such as the European Union enjoy the green tires that we produce, but they are basically not used in China.

Wang Feng believes that the lack of understanding is the key factor that green tires cannot form a market climate. In addition, in the implementation of green tires, the establishment and support of relevant national laws and regulations is also very important. If there are no rigid regulations, the upgrading of tire products cannot be accelerated.

To this end, he suggested that in the process of industrial upgrading and economic transformation, China's promotion of green tires should focus on two aspects: On the one hand, to accelerate industrial upgrading and economic transformation with the mandatory binding of laws and regulations, and to achieve green, low-carbon, and recycling Development, improve the quality and efficiency of development; on the other hand, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and other ministries take the lead in awarding awards to companies that dare to take the lead, take the initiative, and make outstanding contributions to green, low-carbon, and cyclic development. , and grant financial and taxation policies to the winning companies.
